Sales Manager Pharma, Consumer Healthcare | Western US and Canada

Reporting to the CEO US Operations and functionally to the Sales Lead Americas at groninger Germany, the Senior BDM will provide customers with efficient access to groninger’s highly attractive and innovative new machines. Applicants should have demonstrated success in the pharmaceutical or a similar industry, ideally with fill/finish machines. The BDM will be an active listener with a positive problem solving attitude. He or she will be a strong advocate for the company in front of customers, across groninger Pharma’s entire product range.

The successful candidate will understand customers’ business needs and procurement process and will align them with the most suitable groninger solution, building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Ultimately, together with their team, the BDM will close the order and stay in touch throughout the customer journey. We are looking for a pro-active, organized, self-motivated, efficient team player who believes in Sales as a structured process that involves marketing, engineering, service and other portions of groninger. Comprehensive training will be provided in the US and at our facilities in Germany. Your Tasks

  • Communicate with all levels of the customer organization, from technicians to C-Level executives
  • Promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Generate leads through participation in trade shows and conferences, and through your network
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Develop opportunities through early involvement and solution consulting, own budgetary estimates, technical presentations (supported by technical experts as needed), proposal presentations and contract negotiations (formal proposals are developed by back office teams)
  • Present realistic sales forecasts to the management team
  • Meet sales targets by successfully managing customer interactions and back-office teams
  • 50% travel is anticipated once customers will again welcome visitors

Your Profile

Minimal Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in engineering, business administration or a related field
  • 4+ years of successful experience as a sales representative or sales manager in pharma or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all organization levels
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent coaching and people management skills
  • Well-organized, friendly, highly reliable and professional
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through
  • Outstanding planning and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Resides in a Western US State

Desired Qualifications (advantageous but not a must):

  • German language capability
  • Intercultural experience
